This second book is still simply about Jesus. Specifically, some striking and original images of Jesus that AI created in response to different prompts.
This book is focussed on how Jesus is imaged in a range of different artistic styles. I have chosen to explore 400 years of art history, spanning from the drama of the Baroque period (1600-1750), exemplified by Caravaggio and Rubens, through the humanistic Renaissance (14th-16th centuries), featuring da Vinci and Michelangelo.
We will see the ornate Rococo (1720-1780), epitomized by Watteau and Boucher, the Neoclassicism (1750-1850) of David and Ingres. Romanticism's passionate intensity (1780-1850), seen in Turner and Delacroix, follows. Then we will see Realism's unflinching portrayal of everyday life (1840-1900) and Impressionism's (1860-1880) revolutionary focus on light and fleeting moments, e.g. Monet and Renoir.
We are brought into the 20th century by the intensely personal Post-Impressionism (1880-1900) of Van Gogh and Cézanne which launched modern art's diverse trajectory up to the present day.
I created this book, and the one which preceded it, for my personal devotional use. My aim is to look through these images, as expressions of human creativity and faith consciousness, to encounter the divine source of all creativity.
I offer the results with little commentary and with only a simple curation according to style. All art history information is AI-generated. All scripture quotations are from the World English Bible (WEB).
